Kenny Brown | Academy Manager

Kenny Brown was appointed as Academy Manager in February 2023, having initially taken on the role on an interim basis in November 2022.

Brown is a name synonymous with West Ham United, having played 82 games for the Club across five seasons in the 1990s. His father, Ken, was part of the Hammers teams which won promotion in 1958, lifted the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965.

Born in Barking, full-back Brown also played for Norwich City, Plymouth Argyle and Millwall, among others, during an 18-year career.

He began his coaching career in Wales with Barry Town, before spending three years as manager of manager of Spanish regional league side CD Jávea between 2006-09.

Brown returned to England in 2010 to assist his former West Ham teammate Julian Dicks at Grays Athletic, spent a season as first-team and lead development coach at Barnet, before having a spell at Chelmsford City as assistant manager and two years as Academy Manager at Dagenham & Redbridge.

UEFA Pro Licence holder Brown then spent six years as Academy Head of Coaching at Millwall before coming back to the Academy of Football at Chadwell Heath, initially as Head of Coaching for the U9-U14 age groups, in January 2022.

In spring 2023, as Academy Manager, Brown oversaw the U18s win the FA Youth Cup, defeating Arsenal 5-1 in the final, and U18 Premier League South division.

Away from the Academy of Football, he is a popular matchday ambassador at London Stadium, when his Academy commitments allow.
