Fin Herrick signed his first pro-contract with the Club ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The shot-stopper, whose first training session at Chadwell Heath was at the age of six, was an important figure as the young Hammers won the FA Youth Cup and the U18 Premier League South in the 2022/23 campaign.

Fin has also represented England at U16s level, before being called up for the UEFA European U17 Championships in May 2023. He had previously made his England U17 debut nine months earlier, keeping a clean sheet in the Young Lions’ win over Faroe Islands.

During the 2023/24 season, Herrick made 23 appearances for the U18s, while also representing England U18s in two international friendlies against France and Germany.

In 2024/25, his first full season in U21s football, Herrick was the only goalkeeper nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Season as the shot stopper with the most clean sheets in the division (7). He also earned five England U19 caps keeping two clean sheets in UEFA U19 European qualifiers as the Young Lions qualified for the tournament in Romania.

On 1 September 2025, Herrick joined National League side Boreham Wood on a season-long loan. He played ten times, kept five clean sheets and was on the losing side just once.

The goalkeeper also made his England U20s debut - the fifth Young Lions age group he has represented - before being recalled from his loan to train with Nuno Espírito Santo’s first team. After impressing in training, he was named on the bench three times during our FA Cup run and was introduced moments before our quarter-final penalty shootout, saving Leeds United’s opening penalty.

Back with the Academy, Herrick played a major role in the U21s’ runs to the EFL Trophy round of 16 and the National League Cup final. He saved a stoppage-time penalty against Colchester United and produced another key penalty save in the semi-final against Tamworth with the scores level and the Hammers down to ten men.

He was awarded the inaugural Oscar Fairs Academy Goalkeeper of the Year award for his achievements during the 2025/26 season.
