Li Mengwen joined West Ham United on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in September 2024. 

The experienced had spent the majority of her career in her native China, playing for Jiangsu from 2009-2022. Mingwen then made her first foray into Europe, joining Paris Saint-Germain on loan and featuring in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals. 

After her loan in Paris, Mingwen joined Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent basis, and played 11 times in the Barclays Women's Super League during 2023/24.
