Katelin Talbert joined West Ham United Women in August 2023.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper made the move to east London after leaving Campeonato Nacional Feminino Champions SL Benfica.
Born in California, Talbert’s footballing career began in her native United States of America where she attended Humboldt State University. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she had a brief spell with California Storm before moving to Iceland for a stint with Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar (FH) in the Icelandic Second Division.
Talbert is no stranger to Chadwell Heath, having trained with the Hammers for a number of months in the autumn of 2021, before heading to Portugal. fter joining Benfica in January 2022, Talbert played 23 matches for As Águias, helping them to clinch two Campeonato Nacional Feminino titles, a League Cup and Portuguese Super Cup.
Talbert also featured for the Portuguese champions in the UEFA Women’s Champions League during the 2022/23 campaign where they picked up six points from their six matches in Group D against eventual winners FC Barcelona of Spain, German club FC Bayern Munich and Swedish side FC Rosengård.
She spent 2023/24 on loan at Swedish side Djurgårdens IF, where she helped the Stockholm-based side retain their top flight status in the 2023 campaign, before leaving with the team solidly mid-table in the 14-team division at the midpoint of the 2024 season.
