Defender Shannon Cooke joined West Ham United on transfer deadline day in January 2023. 

Born in Hertfordshire, Cooke joined Arsenal’s Academy as a schoolgirl before captaining the Gunners at age-group level. She then skippered Louisiana State University Tigers during a five-year collegiate career in the United States between 2018-22, playing 94 games and scoring nine goals.

A former England age-group international, Cooke established herself in Rehanne Skinner's matchday squad in the 2023/24 season.
