Lifelong West Ham United supporter Dagný Brynjarsdóttir joined the Club in January 2021 before being appointed captain in the summer of 2022.

A tall Iceland international central midfielder with superb aerial ability and an eye for goal, Brynjarsdóttir helped the Hammers secure a record-high sixth-place Women's Super League finish in her first full season in Claret and Blue in 2021/22.

A mother-of-two, Hella-born Brynjarsdóttir is a regular for her country and represented her country at UEFA Women's Euro 2022 in England.
