Andriy Yarmolenko and Ukraine will face a nervous wait to discover their UEFA Euro 2020 fate after falling to a 1-0 Group C defeat to Austria on Monday evening.
Ukraine went into the contest knowing a positive result would have taken them through automatically, but Christoph Baumgartner's first half goal was enough to settle the Bucharest contest in Austria's favour.
Yarmolenko's side finish their group campaign with three points to their name, having narrowly lost 3-2 to the Netherlands and defeated North Macedonia 2-1, with the West Ham man scoring twice and assisting one more goal in the process.
They finish third in Group C, and could still qualify should their tally of three points mean they end up as one of the four best third placed teams.
With Group B concluding later on Monday night, Group D on Tuesday and Groups E and F on Wednesday, Yarmolenko - who won his 97th cap on Monday - and his team will be watching the remaining group matches with interest.
