On This Day: Bobby Zamora's double seals passage to play-off final

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

Bobby Zamora struck twice in the second half to send West Ham United into the Championship Play-Off final for the second successive season on this day in 2005.

Striker Zamora broke the deadlock on the hour mark when he tapped home partner Marlon Harewood's cross from inside the six-yard box.

The pair combined again to double the lead just eleven minutes later, Harewood's exquisite long ball was met by Zamora, who sent a cushioned volley past Kelvin Davis and into the net.

The 2-0 victory sent the Irons through to face Preston North End at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, where Zamora struck again to secure promotion back to the Premier League after a two-year absence.
