Watch: Hammers return to small group training

West Ham United’s first team squad returned to small group training at Rush Green this week as they joined the rest of the Premier League in phase one of its return to training protocol.

The players have been taking part in training in small groups, strictly abiding to the protocol agreed by the Premier League, all 20 clubs, independent experts and the Government, which enables squads to train while maintaining social distancing.

The intense sessions for each group of four to five players are being led by David Moyes and his first team coaching staff Alan Irvine, Kevin Nolan, Paul Nevin and Xavi Valero, following warm-ups with fitness coach Josh Ewens.

Working practices will only be extended when the Government give their permission to do so. In the meantime, the Club, its medical and operations team has put many measures in place that go above and beyond the Government and Premier League recommendations to ensure that Rush Green can be as safe as it can possibly be, including health screening and temperature tents for players and staff upon entry at Rush Green and players arriving and departing in their own kit.

Our photographer focused on a couple of the groups for our gallery of pictures above and watch the players in action in our video below!
