Jess Ziu has signed a new long-term contract with West Ham United!
The exciting Republic of Ireland international is set to enter her third campaign in Claret and Blue, having established herself in manager Rehanne Skinner’s side during 2023/24 following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that sidelined her for the majority of her debut season in east London.
Since signing for West Ham in the summer of 2022, Ziu has made 23 appearances for the Hammers. For her country, she made her debut at the age of 16 and currently has 12 caps.
The 22-year-old sat down with West Ham TV to speak about how happy she is to be continuing her journey in east London with a Club that has been so supportive of her since her arrival.

It feels amazing to have extended my contract here at West Ham United.
It feels like I’m just getting started here because of the injury I sustained in my first year, so I’m really looking forward to showing what I can do in the seasons to come.
I’ve had a smooth journey with my knee and I’ve been supported so well. I’d like to thank everyone for their support since I arrived at the Club. My teammates have been so good with me and it’s one of the reasons why I wanted to extend my time here.
I love being here at West Ham. From the moment I walked through the gates at Chadwell Heath I knew this was where I wanted to be. West Ham are a big family Club, and it’s a pleasure being here and being a part of that.
I’ve loved working under Rehanne [Skinner].
She’s direct with how she wants us to play and her and her staff are on us, which I absolutely love.
I enjoy the way that we play and I’m really looking forward to continuing that in the upcoming campaign.
We want to improve on where we finished last season.
I would describe it as a disappointing season in terms of the amount of points we were able to collect and where we finished in the table.
We should have had more positive results because we were playing well. Particularly in the second half of the season, I think there was a real improvement.
The football that we played doesn’t reflect where we finished in the league in my opinion, so I’m sure with Rehanne going into her second year, we can continue building and progressing as we look to move higher up the standings.
My first aim for next season is to stay fit and healthy.
I haven’t added anything else to that at this stage, but I know when we come back for pre-season I’ll have some aims that I want to tick off throughout the season.
I just want to finish as high as we possibly can, make improvements and to have an enjoyable season.
