Young Hammers receive England call-ups

Divin Mubama, Finlay Herrick, Emeka Adiele and Jethro Medine have all received England age group call-ups for September's internationals.

Mubama will be part of the 24-strong group for England U20s, who will begin the 2023/24 season with a training camp at St George’s Park as they prepare to start the new Euro U20 Elite League in October.

The camp will act as preparation for their fixtures next month with a trip to play Romania in Bucharest on 12 October before they will take on Portugal at home with the venue and date for that game still to be confirmed.

Goalkeeper Herrick, meanwhile, has received his first call-up for England U18s.

Ryan Garry’s Young Lions will play the host nation, France on Wednesday 6 September at 6pm BST.

They then face Japan on Friday 8 September (2pm BST) before they play Portugal on Sunday 10 September (2pm BST). All three matches will take place at the Stade de Beaublanc in Limoges.

The Young Lions will be using the matches as final preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup which takes place in Indonesia in November and December, with the draw for that competition scheduled to take place on Friday 15 September.

Finally, Adiele and Medine will be involved with England U17s, who will be in Pinatar this month as they prepare for their 2024 UEFA U17 EURO campaign.

The Young Lions, under head coach Greg Lincoln, will head to Spain for games against Portugal, Morocco and the host nation in September.
