One hundred questions in a pot. Ten opportunities to draw out the most random, whacky and thought-provoking ones.
Which questions will Thilo Kehrer be asked in our newest feature?
Which teammate has the worst dress sense?
"Oh no! What a first question. I don’t want to talk about any of my teammates like that… but we’ll go with Nayef Aguerd! I actually like what he wears but we’ve been making a lot of fun of his dress sense recently, so he’ll read this and know the joke is continuing!
"The best dressing in the squad, for me, would be Angelo Ogbonna. I like what Angelo wears. Alphonse Areola also has his own style, and Saïd Benrahma always picks nice clothes. I like what they go for, although it’s not necessarily what I would wear."
What is your favourite flavour of ice-cream?
"That’s easy for me, it’s pistachio. Nothing even comes close to pistachio ice-cream. It’s the best flavour."
What does the first hour of your day look like?
"I wake up and I immediately drink water. The moment I wake up, I have to go and drink half a litre or more of water. It’s just part of my routine. Then I jump in the shower and that’s the best way to start the day.
"I would say I’m a morning person so I like getting up. I prefer going to sleep earlier and then waking up earlier, although there are phases in life when the opposite is true too."
What is one item in your life you cannot live without?
"I’m not someone who really feels attachment to any items, or physical things. I know a lot of guys would say their phone but I know I could live without my phone.
"It would be difficult, I think, because I’m used to always using it, just like everyone. But I know I could."
Do you have a secret talent and, if so, what is it?
"I wouldn’t say it’s a secret but I do have other talents. I think I’m good at learning new things, and I seem to pick up languages pretty easily.
"I also like to train in other sports. I have trained in martial arts too. I started with boxing classes six years ago and, from there, I tried other things like grappling and jiu-jitsu. I like trying new things and testing myself."
Who was your favourite teacher when you were a student?
"I remember I had an English teacher, who also did sports in the school I was in. It was between fifth and eighth grade, and he was my favourite teacher.
"There was another teacher too, who I got along with really well and I’m still in touch with now. He taught maths to me when I was between 12 and 15-years-old, and they were the two that always sit with me. Having a good teacher can make all the difference to a subject."
What is your guilty pleasure?
"I wouldn’t really say I have one. I don’t watch too much TV so I can’t say a certain genre of television, or a show.
"I do really like soul music from the 1970s and 1980s, but I wouldn’t say it’s a guilty pleasure. It’s just what I like. I’m a big Marvin Gaye fan, and I also like to listen to Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder too."
Tell us about one person at West Ham who deserves a shout-out?
"It’s not one person but, without a doubt, the chefs at West Ham United deserve a shout-out.
"They take really good care of us, keep us well-fed and make sure we are getting healthy, tasty, nutritious food before and after training. I can’t overstate how great they are and how important that is to our routine."
