Testament to the hard work of everyone at the Club, West Ham United women’s team have a record 18 players away on international duty in February.
The players will head away and represent their countries full of confidence after Rehanne Skinner’s side’s 3-1 success at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, which helped move them up to eighth in the Barclays Women’s Super League standings.
The third international break of the campaign will see players compete in UEFA Women’s Nations League clashes, SheBelieves Cup, Pinatar Cup and Albir Garden Tournament fixtures, as well as friendlies. Moreover, West Ham representatives face each other in seven matches across the week-and-a-half period.
Here’s the lowdown of who will be playing where during the international break…
Who has been called up?
Nine players will begin their UEFA Women’s Nations League campaigns during the international break. Verena Hanshaw’s Austria and Kirsty Smith’s Scotland will go head-to-head in Group A1, with the former also facing Germany while full-back Smith will then take on the Netherlands at Hampden Park.
Also locking horns in the Nations League are Switzerland and Iceland, which could see Seraina Piubel and Dagný Brynjarsdóttir face each other when they meet on Friday 21 February in Zürich. That clash could see Brynjarsdóttir make her first appearance for her country since becoming a mum of two in April 2023, and she will also look to make an appearance in Iceland’s Group A2 clash with France. Meanwhile, Piubel’s Switzerland will also be taking on Norway.
Finland duo Eva Nyström and Oona Siren will play against Group B3 rivals Hungary and Serbia to kickstart their Nations League endeavours, while defender Amber Tysiak, who in the last international break helped Belgium qualify for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, will look to play more minutes for her country against Portugal and Spain in Group A3.
Fellow Euro 2025 qualifier Kinga Szemik - who will look to play in Poland's first-ever major tournament in the summer - will face Northern Ireland and Romania in Group B1 while Jessie Stapleton, who is currently enjoying a season-long loan spell at Sunderland, will play Group B2 matches against Turkey and Slovenia.

Elsewhere, captain Katrina Gorry will be heading away on international duty with Australia after she had to withdraw from their last camp due to a shoulder injury she picked up in November. The Matildas are in SheBelieves Cup action where they will first take on Riko Ueki and Japan on Thursday before facing the USA.
Japan’s second match will see Ueki play against another Hammer in Colombia international Manuela Paví, who will first take on the USA on Friday. Ueki will then face the USA on Thursday 27 February.
Two Irons players will be in Pinatar Cup action with Shelina Zadorsky’s Canada and Li Mengwen’s China two of the four countries involved in this year’s round-robin tournament, which will take place in Spain. They will be competing against Mexico and Chinese Taipei.
Meanwhile, Princess Ademiluyi has again been called up to Lauren Smith’s England U19s squad, where she will face hosts Spain U19s, USA U19s and the Netherlands U19s in the Albir Garden Tournament.
Also representing the Young Lionesses will be Anouk Denton, who will again be with England U23s as they take on Germany U23s and France U23s in friendlies. She could face teammate Shekiera Martinez against Germany, who will also play against the Netherlands U23s in a friendly.
Camila Sáez will also be in friendly action in a pair of fixtures against Argentina across the international break and, if she features in either game, she will become the third women's player to reach 100 appearances for Chile.
