West Ham United women’s team hosted an open training session for their Sister Clubs at Chigwell Construction Stadium on Friday 11 April.
Players from FC Redwing, Broomfield Girls FC, Island Girls, This Girl's Ability, Valley Girls and Tigers FC were all in attendance on a gloriously sunny day in Dagenham as they got to watch Rehanne Skinner’s side get put through their paces upon their return from the international break.
While the women’s team were training, players from the Sister Clubs had the opportunity to win prizes and West Ham merchandise through various competitions - and they were even rallied on by the players!
After the training session, the players came round to the stands to take pictures and sign autographs with the Sister Clubs before captain Katrina Gorry and manager Skinner took part in a Q&A session, discussing the growth and progression of the team, as well as the women’s game in general.
Also at the event, the fans, players and staff all got to congratulate Shekiera Martinez on winning her Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month award, as she became the first West Ham player to win the accolade.
