Women's team confirm Professional Game Academy players for 2024/25

West Ham United women’s team can confirm that Ruby Doe, Marnie Morrison and Daniella Way have joined the Club as part of the Professional Game Academy (PGA) programme. All three players make the move to east London after leaving Arsenal.

Attacker Doe joined Rehanne Skinner’s squad in Australia for the Perth International Football Cup in pre-season, appearing in both matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Leicester City at HBF Park.

The 18-year-old spent last season on dual-registration terms with Ipswich Town, but before that had played regularly alongside Morrison and Way in Arsenal’s U18 and U21 sides.

Morrison and Way, both 18-year-old defenders, will join fellow Hammers Macey Nicholls and Ellie Moore as the five players that make up the PGA programme at the Club.

Nicholls spent the 2023/24 season on a dual-registration at Hashtag United, where the 17-year-old lifted the FA Women's National League Cup. Nicholls will extend her stay with the Tags throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Moore is continuing her rehabilitation after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in early 2023, with the full support of the Club’s medical department.

The PGA is a revised player pathway which replaced the FA WSL Academy programme in 2023. The PGA structure provides young players with the opportunity to be selected as part of a professional club’s programme, combining football development with their education.

This pathway at West Ham United will allow the five young players to train with Skinner’s first team squad on a daily basis, and be part of a Barclays Women’s Super League matchday squad throughout 2024/25.

We’d like to officially welcome Ruby, Marnie and Daniella to West Ham United, and we look forward to seeing the development of all five players in Claret and Blue.
