Due to the international break, one West Ham United women’s team loanee was in action for their temporary club at the weekend...
Ruby Doe gained more valuable minutes for Ipswich Town on Sunday as she started their FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division clash at Watford, but the fourth-placed Hornets put a dent in the Tractor Girls’ title hopes as they secured a 1-0 victory.
The 19-year-old played 84 minutes of the contest at Grosvenor Vale and the only goal of the game came four minutes after the hour mark, when Maddie Perry finished calmly over Town goalkeeper Natalia Negri.
Having suffered only their second league defeat of the campaign in a valuable game in hand, Ipswich have a three-point lead over second-placed Hashtag United at the summit of the table with two matches of the season remaining. However, Joe Sheehan’s side boast a far better goal difference, which is currently 27 more than their promotion rivals.
The Tractor Girls will travel to bottom-of-the-table, already-relegated MK Dons on Sunday, who have accumulated one point all season.
While Ellie Moore’s Hashtag, who were not in action at the weekend, will be hoping to secure maximum points in their final two matches of the league campaign, their focus turns to the BBC Essex Women’s Cup final on Thursday night, which will see them face Billericay Town at Colchester United’s Jobserve Community Stadium.
The Tags hammered Barking 12-1 in the last four, having defeated Hashtag Reserves, Chigwell, Romford Town and Brentwood Town on their way to the showpiece.
Also returning to action this week following the international break are Inès Belloumou’s Malmö FF, who will host Kristianstad, and Halle Houssein’s Beylerbeyi, who will travel to Bornova. Both of those matches will take place on Sunday.
