Inès Belloumou

Women's Loan Watch | Belloumou helps Lazio sink AC Milan

Three of West Ham United women’s team’s loanees were in action for their respective temporary clubs at the weekend.

Inès Belloumou came off the bench to help Lazio secure a 2-0 victory over AC Milan to move up to seventh in the Women’s Serie A standings.

The 23-year-old defender came on in the 65th minute, with former Everton forward Martina Piemonte scoring both goals before Belloumou’s introduction.

The Italian top division will now pause over Christmas and New Year, with fixtures returning on Saturday 11 January 2025.

Meanwhile, Shekiera Martinez couldn’t help Freiburg to victory as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Sofie Zdebel and Delice Boboy gave the home side the win as forward Martinez played 84 minutes of action before being substituted for Freiburg, who remain fifth in the Frauen-Bundesliga table.

The German top division will also pause, and resume on Saturday 1 February.

In the Barclays Women’s Championship, Princess Ademiluyi came on as a 78th-minute substitute in Charlton's goalless draw at Birmingham City on Sunday, leaving the Addicks eighth in the standings.

Elsewhere, Keira Flannery was an unused substitute for Sunderland in Sunday's 2-2 draw at home to bottom-of-the-table Portsmouth.

An enthralling encounter saw Sunderland come from behind to take a 2-1 lead at the break via goals from Eleanor Dale and Katy Watson, but Lily Dent levelled for the visitors within a minute after the restart.

Fellow loanee Jessie Stapleton served a suspension after being sent off for a second bookable offence in the Lasses' 2-1 defeat to Durham in the Women’s League Cup in midweek.

Katelin Talbert was also an unused substitute as Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Saturday night.

With 15 minutes remaining and the contest still goalless at Broadfield Stadium, Bethany England broke the deadlock to hand Spurs the advantage, but Marisa Olislagers restored parity on 82 minutes.

Meanwhile, Marnie Morrison and Hashtag United were not in action this weekend.
