Declan Rice in action for England

West Ham's June internationals - All You Need To Know

West Ham United's 2021/22 season may be over, but the action continues for our international players, with a series of games scheduled across the globe in early June. Here's a rundown of where and when our players will be in action...

Who has been called-up?

Seven Hammers will be involved in senior action over the next couple of weeks, with 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and UEFA Nations League matches taking centre stage.

Headlining this month's call-ups is Jarrod Bowen, who is named in an England squad for the first time. He will link up with Declan Rice as Gareth Southgate's men tackle a quartet of Nations League matches.  Andriy Yarmolenko will be with Ukraine as they aim to seal their spot in this winter's World Cup finals in Qatar in the last remaining European Play-Off tournament. Back in the Nations League, Alphonse Areola is named in the France squad,, while Nikola Vlašić joins up with Croatia and both Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal will represent Czech Republic.

Where and when will they play?

The action all gets underway on Wednesday, when Yarmolenko's Ukraine head to Hampden Park to take on Scotland in their FIFA World Cup Play-Off.  The winners will head to Cardiff on Sunday for the final against Wales and a place in Qatar.  Whether they qualify or not, Ukraine will then play three further Nations League Group B1 fixtures - first in the Republic of Ireland on 8 June, then at home to Armenia on 11 June, before they host Ireland three days later.

Then, on Thursday, Czech Republic host Switzerland in their opening UEFA Nations League Group A2 fixture.  They play their second home game on Sunday 5 June, when Spain are the visitors to Prague's Sinobo Stadium.  The Czechs season ends with a brace of away Nations League games to follow - first a trip to Portugal on 9 June, before they face Spain again, this time in Malaga, on 12 June.

Areola's France and Vlašić's Croatia are both in Nations League Group A1, where Les Bleus will be hoping to defend the title they won in Italy last year.  France first face Denmark in Paris on Friday, with Croatia hosting Austria on the same day. The second slate of fixtures sees the two Hammers go head-to-head in Split on Monday 6 June. Four days later France head to Vienna to take on Austria and Croatia are also away in Denmark. Finally, on 13 June, France and Croatia play their return game at the Stade de France.

England also play the first four of their six Nations League Group A3 games in June, with their first match - and potential debut for Bowen - coming on Saturday when they travel to Hungary. Hot on the heels of that is another away game, on Tuesday 7 June, in Munich against Germany. The Three Lions finish with two home fixtures in Wolverhampton - first against Italy on 11 June, then against Hungary on 14 June.
