Read on for all you need to know about West Ham’s involvement in the September internationals…

Who has been called up?

As mentioned, a number of Hammers are heading away to play for their countries in the coming days.

Hammers skipper Jarrod Bowen is in Lee Carsley's first England squad, following Gareth Southgate's decision to step down after UEFA Euro 2024, where the Three Lions finished as runners-up to Spain. England's UEFA Nations League campaign gets underway in this international window, when they will be aiming to get their promotion bid from Group B2 off to a winning start with group games against Republic of Ireland and Finland.

The fourth team in that same group is Greece, for whom Dinos Mavropanos will be in action against the same two opponents.

Another country aiming to launch a promotion bid from League B is Czech Republic, with Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal set for Group B1 outings against Georgia and Ukraine.

Moving up a division and summer signing Niclas Füllkrug will be hoping to add to his 21 Germany caps and 13 goals when they take on Hungary and Euro 2024 semi-finalists Netherlands in a brace of mouthwatering Group A3 games.

Meanwhile, in Group A2 Alphonse Areola's France campaign gets underway against Italy and Belgium.

Finally in Europe, Academy striker Callum Marshall, currently on loan with Huddersfield Town, will be looking to fire Northern Ireland to success against Luxembourg and Bulgaria in Group C3 after making a fine start to his 2024/25 season with the Terriers.

Moving across the Atlantic Ocean to South America, where 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will be taking place over the next week or so, and Lucas Paqueta's Brazil will be looking to give their campaign a boost with fixtures against Ecuador and Paraguay. Brazil are currently in the sixth and final automatic qualifying slot nearing the halfway stage, having lost three of their first six qualifiers.

Guido Rodríguez's Argentina are in a healthier position, sitting top of the tree with games against Chile and Colombia to come in this window. The defending World Cup winners and 2024 Copa América champions have won five out of six games so far to lead the CONMEBOL qualifying table by two points from Uruguay.

Elsewhere, Michail Antonio and Jamaica get their CONCACAF Nations League bid up and running with Group B games at home to Cuba and away in Honduras.

In Africa, Mohammed Kudus and Ghana begin their qualification campaign for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. The Black Stars will be playing Angola and Niger in Group F, with a place in the finals in Morocco the ultimate prize.

Morocco's Nayef Aguerd, on loan at Real Sociedad, will face Gabon and Lesotho in Group B.

Seventeen-year-old midfielder Gabriel Caliste could earn his first senior cap for Mauritius in an Intercontinental Cup fixture against Syria.
