It is exactly 100 days until West Ham United return to the American city of Chicago, Illinois for the Premier League Summer Series!
The Hammers will take on Everton at Soldier Field on Wednesday 30 July for what promises to be an exciting midway point of the four-team pre-season tournament.
Having already faced Manchester United at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Graham Potter’s Irons will be hoping to boost their hopes of lifting the Summer Series trophy when they tackle the Blues in the Windy City.
Tickets are selling fast for a mouth-watering double-header that will kick-off with West Ham’s clash with Everton at 5.30pm CT, followed by Manchester United versus AFC Bournemouth at 8.30pm CT.
Supporters from all over North America and beyond are expected at Soldier Field, where the hometown Chicago Bears NFL team regularly attract capacity 62,500 crowds – just like West Ham!
Seats are available now HERE, starting from $50 for the double-header. West Ham supporters have been designated Sections 153, 154 and 155, close to the action, but only a limited number of seats remain available in those sections!
This will be West Ham United's third visit to Soldier Field. The Hammers visited twice in the summer of 1963, when Ron Greenwood's side took on Mantova of Italy in the International Soccer League, and Dukla Prague of Czechoslovakia in the American Challenge Cup.
Opened as Grant Park Municipal Stadium on Chicago’s Near South Side in 1924, Soldier Field was renamed at the request of the Chicago Gold Star Mothers the following year, 100 years ago. Since then, it has been the stage for a number of historically significant sporting, cultural and other events.
In 1968, Soldier Field played host to the first Special Olympic Games and three years later, in 1971, the National Football League’s Chicago Bears moved from Wrigley Field, which they had shared with Major League Baseball’s Chicago Cubs.
Boxing matches, college and Professional football, rock concerts, festivals, rodeos, stock-car races and rallies have all called Soldier Field home - and now the Hammers will be back to take on Everton in an exciting game this July!
