West Ham United will welcome Celta Vigo to London Stadium to contest the 2024 Betway Cup on Saturday 10 August.
The Irons begin the Julen Lopetegui era at home with an exciting clash with the Spanish La Liga side, who will head to east London for a 3pm BST kick-off.
West Ham’s newly-appointed head coach and his squad – including our latest arrival, 18-year-old Brazilian Luis Guilherme – will take to the pitch in front of the Claret and Blue Army for the first time at home in preparation for the new Premier League campaign.
Celta, based in the north-western Spanish city of Vigo, have been mainstays of their domestic top flight over the previous three decades and have enjoyed success on the continental stage too, reaching the semi-finals of the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League.
A strong second half of the campaign in 2023/24 – led by club stalwart and Spain international Iago Aspas – saw Claudio Giráldez’s men solidify their La Liga status, while also reaching the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.

Our Betway Cup clash will conclude Lopetegui’s first Hammers pre-season ahead of the new campaign, which begins at London Stadium against Aston Villa a week later.
The Irons have already announced a pre-season match away at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday 20 July, before we head to the United States for the Sunshine State Tour.
There, the Hammers will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in Jacksonville on Saturday 27 July, before going head-to-head with London rivals Crystal Palace in Tampa on Saturday 3 August. Ticket information for both fixtures in Florida can be found by clicking HERE.
