West Ham United Highlight 2023/24 EDI Success

West Ham United’s off the pitch activations have excelled throughout the 2023/24 season, from outstanding work in the local community to inclusive events celebrating others.

Here we take a look at some of the highlights...
 

Hammers Pride Bar

To celebrate the Premier League’s ‘Rainbow Laces’ campaign, West Ham launched the ‘Hammers Pride Bar’ in east London, to highlight the Club’s ongoing support for LGBTQ+ inclusion. In collaboration with supporter group Pride of Irons. The Pride Bar is a social space to encourage positive conversations and a safe environment. The special event was hosted by Tom Skinner and attended by several West Ham legends including Anton Ferdinand and Kevin Nolan. 


Iftar Event

At the end of March, the Club staged an Iftar event at our Chadwell Heath Training Ground as part of Ramadan. This was an opportunity for the Club and local community to come together to celebrate the Islamic month of fasting. Men’s first team captain Kurt Zouma and West Ham United women’s team vice-captain Hawa Cissoko were in attendance, as well as friends and family, Academy players, Club staff, members of the community and the Club Imam Shaykh Khalil.


Omarsson – A West Ham United Original Documentary

To highlight the Club’s ongoing support of professional sportswomen during motherhood, West Ham United launched an original documentary ‘Omarsson’. The documentary follows previous club captain Dagny Brynjarsdottir throughout her second pregnancy and explores 
the barriers female athletes face when making the decision to become a mother.


Premier League Inside Matters x Frank Bruno 

Boxing champion and lifelong West Ham United supporter Frank Bruno MBE visited London Stadium for the Hammers’ win over Luton Town as part of the Premier League’s Inside Matters mental health awareness campaign, where he discussed his personal mental health journey,

Proud to be an Equity leader in the Premier League, West Ham United were awarded the Advanced level of the Premier League’s Equality Standard for a second time in 2023, which is the highest standard that can be achieved.
