Wes Foderingham | Career in Pictures

Following the confirmation of his arrival at West Ham United, we take a photographic journey through Wes Foderingham’s storied career in football so far.

Originally from Shepherd’s Bush, west London, the 33-year-old started out on the books at Fulham and later Crystal Palace, but earned his first senior minutes during a string of loans in non-league, at Bromley, Boreham Wood and Histon.

A regular member of England’s age-group squads up to U19 level, he made a further temporary switch to Paolo Di Canio’s Swindon Town in October 2011, before sealing a permanent move to Wiltshire three months later.

After helping the Robins clinch the 2011/12 EFL League Two title with 22 clean sheets in 33 games, that earned him the division’s Golden Glove award, Foderingham was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year the following term as his side powered to the Play-Off semi-finals.

Two more seasons in the English third tier saw Foderingham tally a total of 71 shutouts in 191 games for Swindon before he joined Scottish giants Rangers in July 2015, who were then a Championship side and in the midst of their journey back to prominence north of the border.

His 50 outings in all competitions helped seal the league title, promotion and the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2015/16, while two seasons later he was featuring on the European stage in UEFA Europa League qualifying.

Foderingham left Rangers with 143 appearances to his name in the summer of 2020, and was quickly snapped up by Sheffield United, where he established himself as number one in the EFL Championship in 2021/22 and was crowned that season’s Players’ Player of the Year.

After a near miss in the Play-Offs, Foderingham made 40 second-tier outings en route to second place and promotion the following year, in 2022/23, and missed just eight games last season in what was his first taste of the Premier League.
