You can now vote for your West Ham United women’s team Hammer of the Year!
It’s been a record-breaking season for Rehanne Skinner’s side and with the campaign reaching its conclusion, it’s time to celebrate what has been a brilliant 2024/25 in east London.
The women’s team, who reached the semi-finals of the Subway® Women's League Cup this season, have already chalked up the most league wins and points at Chigwell Construction Stadium in the Club’s history and have the chance to add more points to their tally before the curtain falls on the Barclays Women's Super League campaign.
There have been plenty of standout players for you to vote as your Hammer of the Year, including current top-scorer Viviane Asseyi, captain and leader Katrina Gorry, and forward Riko Ueki! Summer signings, including Manuela Paví, Oona Siren, Kinga Szemik and Seraina Piubel, have all also had excellent debut seasons in England’s top flight.
Meanwhile, one of our players will also be crowned the women’s team’s Young Hammer of the Year. There are seven nominees for this award, including Young Lioness Anouk Denton, who has been impressive at both ends of the pitch, and Shekiera Martinez, who has been incredibly prolific in front of goal since returning from her loan at German side SC Freiburg in January.
The Hammers have already matched the 2018/19 season high of 25 goals scored in a WSL campaign, the most in a single women’s team season - and some of them have been exceptional strikes and well-crafted moves! Make sure to cast your vote to who should win the Goal of the Season sponsored by Lyca Mobile - from Gorry’s long-range effort at Brighton to Paví’s curler against Manchester City - as well as selecting your Save of the Season from some of the outstanding stops made by Szemik and Megan Walsh throughout the campaign!
Voting closes on Wednesday 30 April, with the winners set to be announced at the women’s team’s final home game of the season, against Aston Villa at Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday 4 May.
Once again, thank you for your outstanding support up and down the country this season, it really makes a difference!
