West Ham United U21s v Sunderland U21s

U21s to face Sunderland in PL2 play-offs round of 16

West Ham United U21s will face Sunderland in the round of 16 of the Premier League 2 play-offs on Saturday 26 April, with kick-off scheduled for 12noon at Rush Green Stadium.

The young Hammers secured fourth place in the regular season standings, earning a home tie against Sunderland, who finished 13th after Liverpool’s draw with Aston Villa on the final day.

As the fourth seed, Mark Robson’s side will play the round of 16 at home, the quarter-finals and semi-finals away, and the final at home, should they progress.

The U21s’ Premier League 2 journey last season ended against Sunderland at the quarter-final stage. After defeating Blackburn Rovers in the round of 16, the Hammers were beaten by Sunderland on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra-time.

Earlier this season, West Ham United U21s edged a 1-0 victory over Sunderland at Rush Green in January, a result that sparked a seven-match winning run which lifted Robson’s side from 13th to third in the standings, clinching a play-off berth with four games to spare, eventually finishing fourth.

Saturday's round of 16 tie will be open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the turnstiles, priced at £5 for Adults and £1 for U18s. Season Ticket Holders can attend for free by showing their Season Ticket at the entrance.
