West Ham United U21s will face Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Premier League 2 play-offs on Monday 5 May, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm at Leigh Sports Village.
After qualifying for the play-offs as the fourth seed, Mark Robson’s side were drawn at home for the round of 16, while their quarter-final and potential semi-final ties will be away, with the final set to be played at home should they progress.
The young Hammers booked their place in the last eight with a 3-1 win over Sunderland, avenging their defeat to the same opponents at the quarter-final stage last season. Goals from Josh Ajala, Lewis Orford and Ryan Battrum sealed the victory at Rush Green Stadium on Saturday.
West Ham and Manchester United have already met once this season in a regular season November clash at Leigh Sports Village. The young Hammers were desperately unlucky to come away empty handed, falling to a very late Ethan Ennis winner who scored from a free-kick in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
The quarter-final tie will be streamed live on the Club’s website and app. A match report, highlights, and reaction will also be available shortly after the final whistle.
Monday's quarter-final will be open to the public. Ticket information will be available in due course on the Leigh Sports Village website.
