West Ham United can confirm that goalkeeper Nathan Trott has completed a transfer to Danish Superliga side FC Copenhagen for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old has spent the previous two campaigns on loan at Copenhagen’s domestic rivals Vejle BK, making 25 appearances in all competitions en route to the second-tier title and promotion in 2022/23, before featuring 31 times last term to help secure top-flight safety.
A total of 22 clean sheets in those 56 games certainly caught the attention of 15-time Danish champions Copenhagen, who were beaten by Manchester City in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League round of 16 and are set to compete in the qualifying rounds for the upcoming season’s UEFA Conference League.
An Academy of Football graduate, who first signed on at West Ham in 2016, Trott made one senior appearance for the Hammers, in a 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round win over Doncaster Rovers in January 2021.
Besides his spells in Denmark, the former England youth international also enjoyed productive loans away from east London at AFC Wimbledon and French side AS Nancy Lorraine in 2019/20 and 2021/22 respectively.
Everyone at West Ham United would like to thank Nathan for his efforts in Claret and Blue and wish him every success in his future career.
