West Ham United's men's first-team squad have hit the training pitches as they get set for a swift return to Premier League action.
David Moyes' outfit will be aiming to bounce back from defeat away to Crystal Palace last week as they host Liverpool on Saturday.
During training, the Hammers showed their support for the West Ham United Foundation, wearing tops designed by Year 3 pupils from the Bobby Moore Academy Primary School.
The Club’s Foundation delivers life-changing opportunities to up to 50,000 people across east London and Essex – and West Ham’s first team were more than happy to promote their great work in the community.
Earlier on in the week, Vladimír Coufal visited the school, which sits in the shadow of the Club’s London Stadium, to help the pupils design the shirts worn in training this week.
Each pupil was given a brief specific to a player, with each design focusing on the first team Hammers squad number, achievements in east London and beyond, and their interests outside of football!
Coufal explained: “The Club’s Foundation do a lot of great work in east London and Essex, especially with young people, so it was good to spend some time seeing that work in person this week.
“I like to support the community the Club is based in as much as I can – and you could see the kids really enjoyed designing the shirts with all the players’ favourite things on.
"I think it will raise some awareness of the Foundation’s work because they do a lot of good things for young people in the West Ham community – and, as players, we want to be part of that!”
Bobby Moore Academy head teacher, Bradley David added: “It’s great to see role models like Vlad lend their time to supporting a local primary school.
“We have a lot of West Ham fans at the school and in the staff too so we were all thrilled to see them here and supporting and working with the pupils of such a brilliant activation to support the West Ham Foundation.
“The Foundation does lots of great work across both Bobby Moore Academy sites – pushing the importance of inclusivity in school and sport - and we’re hoping that the relationship between us and the Club can continue to blossom.”
