Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United
Unmissable Football tour, Optus Stadium, Tuesday 18 July 2023, 6pm AWST/11am BST
West Ham United’s Unmissable Football tour continues at Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, for a pre-season fixture between the Irons and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
David Moyes’ Irons will be in action 9,000 miles from London Stadium on what is just the Club's second visit to Australia and first since a four-match centenary tour in May 1995, when they took on a Western Australia XI at the WACA ground and drew 2-2.
Moyes will take on a Spurs side managed by Australian Ange Postecoglu, who took charge in north London after leaving Scottish treble winners Celtic in the summer. The two faced one another in Australia in 2013, when Moyes' Manchester United defeated Postecoglu's A-League All-Stars 5-1 in Melbourne.
The Hammers defeated Perth Glory 6-2 at Optus Stadium on Saturday evening, with Jarrod Bowen (two), Gianluca Scamacca, Emerson and Divin Mubama among the goalscorers.
The pre-season schedule began with a 4-1 win at National League outfit Boreham Wood and will also see the Hammers travel to Dagenham, Rennes in France and Leverkusen in Germany before kicking-off the Premier League campaign at AFC Bournemouth on 12 August.

Team News…
The first-team squad who have not been involved in international fixtures over June and early July returned to pre-season training on Thursday 6 July. The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Danny Ings, Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell, Łukasz Fabiański, Pablo Fornals and Angelo Ogbonna have all travelled to Australia.
Pre-season also provides manager David Moyes and his coaching staff to take a closer look at the developing talent in the Academy of Football. Divin Mubama, Levi Laing, Freddie Potts, Kamarai Swyer and George Earthy are among the young Hammers who are in Perth.
Conor Coventry missed Saturday's win over Perth Glory on Saturday with a tight hamstring.
The Club's current internationals return to Rush Green for pre-season training on Monday 17 July.
Opposition…
Another new era is dawning at Tottenham Hotspur.
Four years after reaching the UEFA Champions League final, Spurs kick-off 2023/24 without European football on their fixture list.
The man who led the north Londoners to that final, Mauricio Pochettino, is now at Chelsea, and José Mourinho, Nuno Espírito Santo, Antonio Conte and Ryan Mason have all come and gone from the hot seat.
Into their place has come Australian Ange Postecoglou, who previously managed the Socceroos national team and won AFC Asian Cup in 2015. The 57-year-old has also won the A-League with Brisbane Roar, J1 League with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan in 2019 and guided Celtic to the Scottish domestic treble last season
It remains to be seen who Postecoglou will have in his squad when the summer transfer window closes, though.
Speculation continues over the future of star striker Harry Kane, who is being linked with a move to Bayern Munich, while captain Hugo Lloris appears to be on his way out on N17.
Kane's England teammate James Maddison has arrived, as have Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Israel midfielder Manor Solomon.
Previous Meetings…
If you include Southern League, War-Time League, Football League, Premier League and cup matches, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have met an amazing 216 times previously!
The first came way back in 1899, and is best forgotten, seeing as Spurs ran out 7-0 winners in a Southern League match played at White Hart Lane.
Since then, the north Londoners have continued to hold the edge, winning 88 to West Ham's 76, with 52 draws.
This will unsurprisingly be the first time West Ham and Tottenham have met in Australia. However, the Irons have met Premier League opposition on foreign turf in recent seasons, tackling Newcastle United and Manchester City in China at the 2019 Premier League Asia Trophy, and facing the latter in Iceland in 2017.
