1. Three goals
When West Ham United hit three goals in a match, they invariably win it.
For the fourth time this season, the Irons hit a top-flight treble and, for the fourth time, they ended up with a victory.
Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and now Wolverhampton Wanderers have all felt the force of West Ham’s attacking trio of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paquetá.
Those three players have combined to either score eight of the 12 goals the Irons have scored in those four successes, helping their team collect Premier League 12 points as a result.
Kudus and Bowen were also on target when West Ham defeated Arsenal 3-1 in the EFL Cup fourth round, and the Ghanaian found the net twice in a 3-1 victory over FK TSC on UEFA Europa League Group A matchday one.
2. Three points
Last season, it took West Ham United until their 29th match and 8 April to record their eighth Premier League victory.
This time around, the Irons have reached the same number in 17 matches and nearly four months faster, following Sunday’s 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Stadium.
Three points took West Ham onto 27 for the season and saw them rise above Brighton & Hove Albion into eighth place in the table.
For context, the Hammers collected 28 points from 17 games on their way to finishing seventh in 2021/22, and had just 26 from 17 ahead of finishing sixth in 2020/21.
3. Three assists
On Sunday, Lucas Paquetá became the first West Ham United player to register three assists in the same Premier League game since January 2017.
Back then, Michail Antonio laid on goals for Sofiane Feghouli, Andy Carroll – for that bicycle kick – and Manuel Lanzini in a 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace.
This time around, Brazilian playmaker Paquetá provided the balls for Mohammed Kudus to strike twice and Jarrod Bowen once in a 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Stadium.
The No10’s vision and passing ability combined perfectly as he sent Kudus clear down the inside right channel twice within ten first half minutes, then again as he played Bowen clear to complete the victory with 16 minutes remaining.
