West Ham United manager David Moyes makes just one change to his starting XI for Sunday's Premier League fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Today’s game marks our 50th Premier League game on a Sunday since the start of the 2021/22 season – that is 50 out of 93 and 13 more than any other club over the same period.
Less than three days after defeating SC Freiburg to top UEFA Europa League Group A, the Irons are back at London Stadium to host a Wolves side managed by former Hammers midfielder Gary O’Neil.
Moyes brings captain Kurt Zouma back into his team, with Dinos Mavropanos the player who drops to the substitutes’ bench.
His selection also confirms Edson Álvarez has shaken off the leg knock he received early in Thursday’s victory over Freiburg and the Mexican will take his place in the midfield anchor role in east London.
It also means Łukasz Fabiański retains his place in goal, with Alphonse Areola named among the nine substitutes despite having recovered from the wrist injury saw him miss the recent Premier League matches at Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
In defence, Vladimír Coufal starts at right-back, with skipper Zouma and Nayef Aguerd partnered in the centre and Emerson on the left.
Fresh from scoring his first goal for West Ham in midweek, Álvarez will protect the back four, with his regular midfield colleagues James Ward-Prowse and Tomáš Souček lined up slightly further forward.
Ahead of them, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paquetá will provide the support for Jarrod Bowen up front.
Bowen, who scored his 50th Hammers goal at Tottenham ten days ago, once went on trial at Wolves as a boy, and will be motivated to score against the nearest Premier League club to his hometown of Leominster, which is situated 45 miles to the south west in Herefordshire.
Should Bowen score today, he will reach ten Premier League goals in 16 appearances and become the fastest Hammer to double figures in a season since John Hartson in 1997/98.
