Team News: Ogbonna skippers Hammers at Arsenal

Angelo Ogbonna wears the captain’s armband for West Ham United’s Thursday night trip to Arsenal.

The Italian centre-back partners former Gunner Dinos Mavropanos as the Hammers make just one change from the victory over Manchester United last time out, with Ogbonna coming in for regular skipper Kurt Zouma, who felt his knee in training prior to the Emirates Stadium derby.

Alphonse Areola starts for David Moyes’ men in goal, with Vladimír Coufal and Emerson joining the aforementioned pair in defence.

Edson Álvarez will sit at the base of a midfield which is also set to feature Tomáš Souček and James Ward-Prowse.

Lucas Paquetá, who has laid on four assists in his last two Premier League outings, will support Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen in attack, with the pair hoping to add to the goals they notched in our 3-1 win against the Gunners in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

Among the substitutes, another former Arsenal man Łukasz Fabiański, provides back-up for Areola, with Ben Johnson, Aaron Cresswell and Thilo Kehrer providing further defensive cover.

Pablo Fornals, Saïd Benrahma, Maxwel Cornet, Danny Ings and Divin Mubama comprise Moyes’ attacking options from the bench.
