David Moyes has offered an update on the fitness of Aaron Creswell and Maxwel Cornet ahead of Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Everton.
Having beaten Brentford on Monday evening, West Ham United next travel north to Goodison Park, looking to continue building momentum and further consolidate their push for European qualification.
Cresswell and Cornet both missed the win over the Bees, with Moyes confirming that the latter faces a spell on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury he picked up in training.
The boss did confirm that Cresswell was absent as a precaution however, having sustained a minor Achilles strain.
“Aaron Cresswell felt his calf and his Achilles a little bit before the Brentford game, so we didn’t want to take the risk with him, but he’s OK [for this weekend]," Moyes said.
“Maxwel [Cornet] pulled his hamstring a little bit the Saturday or the Sunday before the same match, so it looks as if he is going to be out for a few weeks with that unfortunately.
“At the moment, they are the only two who we really see in that injury category.”
Moyes will be able to call on Kalvin Phillips for the trip to Merseyside, with the 28-year-old having completed his suspension after being sent off for two bookable offences at Nottingham Forest.
