Maxmillian Kilman starts for West Ham United in Saturday’s pre-season match at Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Hammers’ summer signing will line-up alongside Kurt Zouma in the heart of defence as new Head Coach Julen Lopetegui leads the team on English soil for the first time.
Following Monday’s 2-2 draw with Hungarian champions Ferencváros in Austria, the Irons take on our National League near neighbours at Chigwell Construction Stadium.
Kilman, who debuted in Kitzbühel following his summer switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Zouma start in front of goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański, who talked about the intensity of Lopetegui's pre-season training sessions in his pre-match interview.
Academy of Football graduate and 2023 FA Youth Cup winner Kaelan Casey and Italy international left-back Emerson , who is at the other end of the experience scale, complete the back four.
In midfield, another Academy graduate, Freddie Potts – who enjoyed a superb loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers last season – will be flanked by another FA Youth Cup winner in Lewis Orford and James Ward-Prowse, who is kicking-off his second season with the Hammers.
In attack, Maxwel Cornet, who scored in last summer’s 2-2 pre-season draw against the same opponents and Brazil U20 international Luis Guilherme – Lopetegui’s first signing at the Club – will support Northern Ireland international Callum Marshall.
Supporters can expect to see plenty of changes during today's game, with the likes of Wes Foderingham, Nayef Aguerd, Aaron Cresswell, Dinos Mavropanos, Mohammed Kudus and Danny Ings - who scored in Austria on Monday - all set to appear at some stage.
