Gianluca Scamacca returns to the starting XI for West Ham United in this evening's pre-season match against Boreham Wood.
The Italian striker missed a significant portion of the second half of the 2022/23 season due to injury, but has recovered after undergoing surgery.
The 24-year-old will lead the line this evening alongside fellow forward Danny Ings, with nine senior first-team players involved in the starting XI.
Łukasz Fabiański is preparing for a fifth season in Claret and Blue and starts in goal for the Irons, while Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell feature in defence. They are joined by development team centre-back Levi Laing, who made his first-team debut in the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.
In midfield, Flynn Downes starts alongside Conor Coventry, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Rotherham United. Kamarai Swyer and Spanish playmaker Pablo Fornals are also in the side.

Manager David Moyes has a selection of Academy of Football talent to choose from on the bench this evening, with eleven names from across the U21s and U18s joined among the substitutes by UEFA Europa Conference League final hero Jarrod Bowen and defender Emerson Palmieri.
