Manager David Moyes has made four changes to the XI for Tuesday night’s Emirates FA Cup third-round replay away at Bristol City, following the teams’ 1-1 draw at London Stadium last time out.
Aaron Cresswell, Saïd Benrahma, Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings will all feature from the start under the lights at Ashton Gate, in place of Edson Álvarez, Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Fornals and Lucas Paquetá.
Bowen was the Hammers’ goalscorer against the Robins on 7 January, but first-team coach Billy McKinlay confirmed his injury absence for this clash in his pre-match press conference, along with that of Paquetá who was forced off just 14 minutes into the same game.
Cresswell and Benrahma were both unused substitutes in the first running of the tie and will be eager to impress in the West Country, with the former set for his sixth appearance of the season and the latter still looking for his first goal of 2023/24 on his 22nd outing.
Further changes towards the top of the field - owing to injuries as well as Mohammed Kudus’ involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations - see Cornet and Ings come in, also looking to notch their firsts of the campaign on their second and fifth starts respectively.
Elsewhere, seasoned goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański starts between the sticks, with skipper Kurt Zouma and Konstantinos Mavropanos lining up in the centre of defence just ahead of him.
Vladimír Coufal and Emerson retain their places, while midfield duo James Ward-Prowse - who currently has five FA Cup goals to his name - and Tomáš Souček complete the line-up.
West Ham boast a wealth of young talent on the substitutes bench, with the likes of Kaelan Casey, Ollie Scarles and Divin Mubama looking to earn valuable senior minutes. Both Casey and Scarles made their first-team debuts in the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, away to FCSB in the group stage.
Northern Ireland international forward Callum Marshall - fresh from winning the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for December last week - could make his senior debut if called upon by boss Moyes.
