Łukasz Fabiański and Konstantinos Mavropanos return to the West Ham United starting XI to face their former club Arsenal.
Goalkeeper Fabiański and Greek international Mavropanos both previously represented the Gunners and now the duo will line up for David Moyes’ Hammers against the north London side in Wednesday evening’s fourth round outing.
Their inclusion represents two of five changes to the West Ham team from the home Premier League defeat by Everton on Sunday.
Shot-stopper Fabiański made 78 outings for Arsenal during his career at the Emirates Stadium, and makes his 180th appearance for the Hammers this evening. The experienced Pole also captains the Irons against his former side.
Mavropanos, who joined West Ham in the summer from VfB Stuttgart, spent four years on the books with Arsenal as well. The Greek international comes into the defensive line alongside the returning Emerson Palmieri, who returns from a one-game Premier League suspension. The two are joined by Vladimír Coufal and Nayef Aguerd.
In midfield, Edson Álvarez comes in for his first start in the Carabao Cup after making an outing from the bench in the 1-0 win over Lincoln City in the third round. The Mexican is joined by Tomáš Souček, who scored the winning goal in that game away to the Imps.
Lucas Paquetá also makes the starting XI for his first appearance in the Carabao Cup. The Brazilian is joined by Mohammed Kudus and Saïd Benrahma.
Jarrod Bowen completes the starting XI against Arsenal, with the No20 scoring on his last outing against the Gunners; a 2-2 Premier League draw with the north London side at London Stadium in April.
Manager David Moyes has a plethora of options available among his substitutes bench should the boss require them.
Experienced goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is joined by defensive options Aaron Cresswell, Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer, while birthday boy James Ward-Prowse will be hoping to mark his 29th birthday with a win on Wednesday evening.
Spaniard Pablo Fornals is also available from the bench, as is Ivorian international Maxwel Cornet, Danny Ings and Michail Antonio.
