David Moyes makes three changes from Thursday’s UEFA Europa League tie against Bayer Leverkusen as West Ham United face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier League.
The Hammers will be boosted by the return of Emerson and Lucas Paquetá, both suspended for the previous fixture against the German champions, while Angelo Ogbonna makes his fourth Premier League start of the season in place of the injured Nayef Aguerd.
Despite registering an assist at London Stadium midweek, Jarrod Bowen is not included in the matchday squad, although Alphonse Areola and Kalvin Phillips return to the substitutes’ bench, with Aaron Cresswell the other player to make way from Thursday’s starting XI.
At Selhurst Park, Vladimir Coufal and skipper Kurt Zouma complete the West Ham defence, with Łukasz Fabiański starting between the sticks, despite Areola’s return to a Premier League matchday squad for the first time since West Ham’s trip to Newcastle United in March.
With Paquetá back, Moyes also names midfielders James Ward-Prowse, Edson Álvarez, and Tomáš Souček, who moves to just two games short of 50 appearances for West Ham in 2023/24.
Scorer of the Irons’ goal in the reverse fixture in December, Mohammed Kudus, will lead the support of Michail Antonio, who reaches another Club landmark in 2023/24.
West Ham United’s all-time Premier League top scorer is set to make his 250th appearance for the Club in the Premier League and could also score in a fourth straight start against the Eagles should he find the net today.
Academy of Football graduates Divin Mubama, Lewis Orford, and Kaelan Casey make a substitutes' bench that includes the returning duo of Phillips and Areola.
Meanwhile, Cresswell, Ben Johnson, Maxwel Cornet, and Danny Ings, who has five career goals against the Eagles, complete the matchday squad in south London.
