How did your Supporters' Club begin?

The Supporters' Club was founded in 1988 by a Norwegian guy called Rune Jensen. He started collecting names, addresses and phone numbers from West Ham supporters in Scandinavia. He also then started, and made the first edition of our fanzine ‘Bubbles’.

Next year, we will celebrate our 35th anniversary.

Have you always been a West Ham supporter?

I’m the first West Ham supporter in my family. I started following West Ham for real in the 2002/2003 season, when we got relegated. I had a few years before when I followed the results of West Ham occasionally. West Ham certainly isn't my local club, and I think my first notice of West Ham was the beautiful colours of our shirt. The interest really kicked in when I first met fellow West Ham supporters in a pub in Oslo at the beginning of the 2002/03 season. Since then, West Ham and the Scandinavian Hammers family has been an important part of my life!

How do you follow the Hammers on a matchday?

I try to come to London Stadium as much as I can. Living in Oslo and having a family with young kids, obviously makes it hard to come to every game. I try to get to six matches live each season. When I am home, most games are watched on television with friends and family. I said I was the first West Ham supporter in the family, but I'm proud to say I'm not the only one. My father, son, ex-wife and a couple of my best friends have since also become dedicated West Ham supporters.

What is your matchday routine?

When I'm in London the day starts with a pint and breakfast. I love to stay in Romford, where the day normally starts at The Moon and Stars. After moving to London Stadium, I have done a lot of different pre-match pubs in and around Stratford and Hackney Wick.  I guess I can say that the only fixed matchday routine is going to pubs, and locations and pubs vary from game to game.
