Speaking to the Official Matchday Programme, Łukasz Fabiański dips his hand into our bowl of random questions…
What is your favourite holiday destination?
"It’s Italy for sure. I wouldn’t say there’s a particular place I love because the entire country is beautiful. Every time I have been there and get a chance to go to a different place, I am always amazed by how beautiful and picturesque it is. The quality of the food is incredible and the people are always so kind too. It’s a beautiful county."
Would you rather be Batman, Superman or Spiderman?
"It has to be Superman. He is my favourite superhero and cartoon character too, so that is an easy choice for me."
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
"I’ve won a couple of trophies in my career and I would say, equally, each of them. I won the Ekstraklasa with Legia Warsaw when I was young, and I also won the FA Cup while I was at Arsenal too. Of course, there was the UEFA Europa Conference League win last season as well, and that was so special for this group. Those are the highlights of my career."
What is the best thing about being a footballer?
"The best thing is probably the simplest thing, in that I’m doing the thing I love the most for my work. Being a footballer always starts with a passion for the sport when you’re a kid, and it’s so good to turn that passion into a job. It doesn’t feel like a job."
If you could pick one person to have dinner with, who would it be?
"I’ll go for Michael Jordan. As a kid I loved to watch him play basketball. He could be very outspoken and had a real confidence about him that some people would say could cross into arrogance. But he had a great winning mentality too and I’d love to talk to him about it."
What is your favourite sweet treat?
"I really love chocolate. Anything that has chocolate in, I am a big fan of, so it has to be chocolate."
What are you most grateful for?
"First and foremost, my health. You cannot ever take that for granted. Also, I have to say my family. I really have a great family and I can feel the love from them every single day. It’s very special."
What goes in your perfect sandwich or wrap?
"I really like avocado so that needs to be in there. I’d also put in some onion. I need something for a bit of protein as well, so I would probably go for chicken. And then just a little bit of cheese to complete the filling."
Do you understand cricket?
"A little bit more now because I’ve been in England for a while. And I have a friend who is a big fan of cricket, and he invited me to his house to play some cricket in his garden. That was a lot of fun, so my understanding is getting better."
