Shelina Zadorsky

Starting XI | Zadorsky starts as Liverpool face women's team in Dagenham

Rehanne Skinner has named her side that will take on Liverpool on Sunday 29 September at Chigwell Construction Stadium.

West Ham United women's team welcome the Reds to the capital in what is their first home fixture of the season, and Skinner has made one change to the side that lost out to Manchester United on the opening day last weekend.

Vice-captain Shelina Zadorsky returns to the starting XI have came off the bench in the defeat at Old Trafford. She will slot into the backline and replace Camila Sáez, who has a place on the bench.

There is also a first inclusion in the matchday squad for Professional Game Academy forward Ruby Doe. The young forward recently celebrated her 19th birthday, and was part of the West Ham squad that traveled to Australia for the Perth International Football Cup at the end of August.

All of the above means that Kinga Szemik starts between the posts for the first time at Chigwell Construction Stadium, and joins a number of other players making their home debuts for the team.

Starting team

Skinner makes that singular change to the backline from last weekend's defeat, so Anouk Denton and Li Mengwen continue in the wing-back positions, whilst Shannon Cooke, Amber Tysiak and Zadorsky round out the defence.

Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and captain Katrina Gorry continue their partnership in midfield and will look to disrupt and distribute to the forward line.

In attack, Emma Harries, Viviane Asseyi and Riko Ueki will be fluid with their movements as they hope to unlock Liverpoo's defence. Ueki scored in both matches against Liverpool last term and will hope to do so again today.

On the bench, Skinner has plenty of options, including new signings Oona Siren, Manuela Paví, Sáez and Seraina Piubel. Megan Walsh, Marika Bergman Lundin, Halle Houssein and PGA youngster Doe complete the substitutes bench.
