Rehanne Skinner has named her West Ham United women’s team Starting XI for the Barclays Women’s Super League clash with Everton on Sunday afternoon.
Skinner makes one change to the side that narrowly went down 2-0 to Manchester City last weekend, with Finland international midfielder Oona Siren handed her first start in the WSL.
The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from LSK Kvinner on 12 September, and after impressing in several cameo’s and in the Women’s League Cup win over Portsmouth, Siren is in from the start at Walton Hall Park.
West Ham boss Skinner is also boosted by the return of defender Kirsty Smith to the matchday squad. The Scotland international is yet to feature this season due to injury, but occupies a place on the bench for the game against the Toffees.
Poland international goalkeeper Kinga Szemik continues between the posts for Skinner’s side after a solid performance away at City last weekend.
The backline will see Anouk Denton and Shelina Zadorsky occupy wing-back positions, with Amber Tysiak marshalling a defence that includes Li Mengwen and Camila Sáez.
Siren will partner women’s team captain Katrina Gorry in midfield, as the Australian international looks to lead the Irons to their first league win of the campaign.
In attack, the dynamic trio of Viviane Asseyi, Emma Harries and Riko Ueki will occupy the forward positions.
Skinner has eight players to choose from on the substitutes bench. The aforementioned Smith is joined by Megan Walsh, Shannon Cooke, Marika Bergman Lundin, Dagný Brynjarsdóttir Halle Houssein, Manuela Paví and Seraina Piubel.
