Rehanne Skinner is set to hand Eva Nyström her West Ham United women’s team debut in the Hammers’ Barclays Women’s Super League clash at Liverpool on Sunday.
The centre-back joined the Club in January after leaving Swedish Damallsvenskan side Hammarby IF, and is one of five changes to the side that faced the Reds in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in midweek.
Fellow January arrival Verena Hanshaw is restored to the starting XI after she missed the cup clash because she was not registered before the original fixture date on 12 January, while Shelina Zadorsky starts in place of the suspended Amber Tysiak.
Elsewhere, Kinga Szemik starts in between the sticks for the Hammers at the Totally Wicked Stadium and Seraina Piubel comes into the attack.
With two changes from last Sunday’s WSL victory over Everton, a back four of Anouk Denton, Nyström, Zadorsky and Hanshaw will look to protect Szemik’s goal, as the Irons go in search for back-to-back league clean sheets.
Captain Katrina Gorry and Oona Siren will once again line up in midfield, looking to provide balls through to the attack which includes Viviane Asseyi, who starts after she recorded her fourth league goal of the campaign against the Toffees.
The France international is up front with Riko Ueki, Piubel and Shekiera Martinez - the latter having scored her first goal for the Club against Everton with a bullet near-post header from an Asseyi corner.
Skinner has nine substitutes on her bench for the clash in Liverpool. Megan Walsh is the goalkeeping option, while Kirsty Smith, Li Mengwen and Camila Sáez provide defensive stability.
Meanwhile, Marika Bergman Lundin and Dagný Brynjarsdóttir are the midfielders on the bench, with Emma Harries, Manulela Paví and Princess Ademiluyi looking to add to the Hammers’ attacking firepower.
