Carlos Soler with his West Ham United shirt

Soler squad number confirmed

Carlos Soler will wear the No4 shirt for West Ham United this season.

The Spain international midfielder joined the Hammers on loan for the 2024/25 campaign on Friday, moving to London Stadium from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old follows in a long line of illustrious players who have worn the No4 since squad numbers were introduced in 1993/94, joining the likes of Steve Potts, Don Hutchison, Danny Gabbidon, Kevin Nolan and Kurt Zouma.

Soler himself kicked-off his senior career at Valencia wearing the No18 shirt as a teenager in 2016/17, before switching to No8 in 2018/19, then to No10 in 2021/22. On moving to PSG in summer 2022, Soler took the No28 shirt for two seasons at the Parc des Princes.

Now, he will wear No4 for Julen Lopetegui’s side, and Soler could wear his new number for the first time when West Ham return to Premier League action after the international break at Fulham on Saturday 14 September.
