Kirsty Smith has become the latest player to extend her contract with West Ham United.
The experienced full-back has signed on the dotted line ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 Barclays Women's Super League season - following on from the news that Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and Viviane Asseyi have extended their deals.
Smith has been instrumental for the Hammers since she arrived in east London from Manchester United in the summer of 2022.
The full back had struggled for consistent game time at the Red Devils due to niggling injuries, but she has overcome that to become a mainstay in the Hammers backline, making 54 appearances over the last past seasons.
In 2023/24, Smith scored her first goal in Claret & Blue in a 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in October and made 25 appearances across the campaign.
The Scot sat down with West Ham TV to explain why she has been so pleased with the past two seasons in east London, and how much she is looking forward to being back in 2024/25!

I’m really happy to extend my contract at West Ham United!
I’ve had two great years at the Club and I’m really happy to be continuing this chapter in east London.
There's been a lot of progress here at the past year, and it's been really nice being a part of this team. I want to see us progress even further, and there's a lot of building that still needs to be done.
It's an exciting time, and I'm looking forward to another season in a West Ham shirt.
It's been so pleased to have had the two years that I've had here.
My aim when I joined West Ham was to stay fit and healthy after picking up a couple of injuries at my previous club.
To have been able to play consistently and contribute in each game has been a big achievement for me. I've really enjoyed playing here and we have a team that is full of togetherness.
I'm really looking forward to continuing that and hopefully I'll be able to contribute even more for the team moving forward.
I think we've played some really good football over the past season.
We know that we haven't always been able to pick up the results that our play has deserved, and that's something we need to move forward with and make sure we change for the new season.
It's been great to have a fresh new style under Rehanne [Skinner], it's been really positive for us as players, and our aim is to turn it into more points next season.
It's going to take us a little bit of time to build, and next year we have to continue moving forward in the right direction and in a positive way.
It'll be nice to have a break, but I'll miss football over the off-season!
I'm really looking forward to coming back in for pre-season at the end of July after a good break.
It's really important that we have that time to reflect, recharge and go again. We all want to improve on how we did last season and I'm really excited for what next season will look like!
