West Ham United women’s team captain Katrina Gorry has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month award for November.
The nomination comes after the Hammers’ skipper netted her first two goals for the Club at the Amex Stadium, helping her side draw level with Brighton & Hove Albion thanks to two long-range strikes in the space of five minutes.
The Australia international also earned her first victory as captain of the Irons in November, after a dominant midfield display in Rehanne Skinner’s side’s 1-0 success over Leicester City at Chigwell Construction Stadium.
The No22 battled all game, contributing to the team’s first clean sheet of the campaign by helping to protect the back four while crafting chances for the forwards. Her performance against the Foxes earned her the Player of the Match award, as voted for by West Ham supporters.
Gorry is up against Arsenal's Steph Catley and Alessia Russo, Chelsea's Mayra Ramírez and Guro Reiten, Khadija Shaw of Manchester City and Anna Patten from Aston Villa.
