Rick Passmoor

Rick Passmoor appointed West Ham United women’s team Assistant Manager

West Ham United is delighted to confirm the appointment of Rick Passmoor as women’s team Assistant Manager.

Passmoor has joined the Hammers from Leeds United, whom he led to a sixth-place finish in the FA Women’s National League Division One North in his first season in charge last term.

The 55-year-old is incredibly experienced within the women’s game and, in a previous spell with Leeds, achieved a large period of success - reaching the Women's FA Cup final in 2008, winning the League Cup in 2010 and being named Manager of the Season during the club’s time in the Women’s Super League.

Passmoor also led Notts County to the FA Cup final in 2015, when they narrowly lost to a strong Chelsea side. Continuing his challenge for domestic trophies, the coach also oversaw memorable runs to the League Cup final in 2013 and 2015.

Before joining Leeds in 2022, Passmoor held the senior role of Head of Academy Coaching and Coach Development at Scunthorpe United and spent four years in total with the Club.

Passmoor also played for the Iron between 1984 and 1987, before moving into a Development Manager role with the North Lincolnshire based outfit.

Rehanne Skinner's coaching team

Passmoor will link up with manager Rehanne Skinner and new Goalkeeping Coach, Chris Pipe who was announced in the role recently, as the new coaching team begins to take shape ahead of the upcoming Barclays Women’s Super League season.

"I’m really excited to be join West Ham United”, Passmoor told whufc.com.

“I had a phone call with Rehanne a couple of weeks ago and I knew instantly that this would be a fantastic opportunity for me. We both know what direction we would like to take the Club in and, although it won’t happen overnight, we have a chance to build something special here and I’m really looking forward to being a part of that.

“I’ve had a fantastic welcome from everyone and it’s clear to see that there are a lot of good people in the building. Now it’s time for us all to knuckle down and work together to ensure that we’re in the best possible place come the start of the season on 1 October.”

Skinner is looking forward to adding Passmoor’s experience to her coaching team.

“I’m delighted to welcome Rick into my coaching team at West Ham United,” Skinner told whufc.com.

“Rick has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience over a significant number of years in the game and has been instrumental in developing senior internationals over the years.

“We both have a similar approach to coaching our players and I have no doubt that his energy will help elevate the way that we operate as a group. I’m really looking forward to working with him moving forwards.”

Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Rick to the Club, and we wish him every success in his new role.
