West Ham United can confirm that young defender Regan Clayton has joined Vanarama National League side Dagenham & Redbridge on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old 2023 FA Youth Cup winner recently returned to competitive action following a nine-month period on the sidelines due to a knee injury. He made his first appearance since April 2024 for West Ham United U21s in their Premier League 2 win over Sunderland in January.
Clayton played every minute of West Ham United’s FA Youth Cup-winning campaign and played a key role in the U18s’ Premier League South title success in 2022/23. He also featured regularly for the U21s during that season, making over 30 appearances across all competitions.
Clayton now joins the Daggers, the side West Ham United U21s faced in the National League Cup in January, under new manager Lewis Young, as they push for a National League play-off spot with 20 games remaining.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes Regan all the best in his loan spell with Dagenham & Redbridge and looks forward to seeing his continued development over the coming months.
