In Pictures | Martinez's marvellous March

Shekiera Martinez - your Barclays Women’s Super League March Player of the Month.

The 23-year-old scored three goals in the month for a West Ham United women’s team that displayed some of their performances of the season so far.

After going toe-to-toe with second-placed Arsenal for 90 minutes, in which Martinez scored a blistering second-half goal, the Germany U23 international helped her side salvage a late draw at home to Manchester City before putting two unanswered goals past Tottenham Hotspur.

Martinez then showed her class once more to net two goals and earn Rehanne Skinner’s side a deserved point at Chelsea at the end of March. First, latching on to Riko Ueki's pass, she fired low past Hannah Hampton - which was nominated for the league's Goal of the Month award - before stooping to head home with pressure on her shoulders in second-half stoppage time.

Fitting in seamlessly to Skinner’s attack, Martinez is up to five goals - and counting - from eight WSL matches - a truly stunning start to life in Claret and Blue.
