West Ham United and Aston Villa shared the points in a 1-1 Premier League draw at London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Fresh from Thursday night's UEFA Europa Conference League round of 16 first leg victory against AEK Larnaca, David Moyes and his team hoped to build momentum on their return to domestic action - although Ollie Watkins' 17th minute header had them behind in the early running.
West Ham hit back swiftly though, and after Paquetá was clipped by Leon Bailey in the box, Saïd Benrahma blasted home a 26th minute penalty.
That proved to be the end of the scoring as both sides had to settle for a point.
